NUNAGEN
Engineered Genetic Platforms
NUNAGEN, a King’s College London spinout, utilizes two proprietary 'plug and play' synthetic gene platforms to engineer smart biobased materials that optimize treatment delivery and change future of medicine by producing therapeutics and preventive from within the body.
A biocatalytic gene platform
A molecular assembly gene platform
We are changing the landscape of use of medicines to treat or prevent diseases through creating novel biocatalysts for mRNA and gene therapy.
The genes encoding our biocatalysts are delivered to target cells. The cells express the biocatalysts, which then use cellular metabolites to manufacture drugs within the body for the course of treatment. A single dose treatment or prevention hugely reduces economic costs, cuts thousands tons of CO2 emissions, eliminate problems associated with drug adherence and environmental contamination.
We are innovating construction and delivery of multifunctional therapeutics to address multifaceted diseases such as cancer and viral infections.
The synthetic genes we have created act as a 'plug and play' platform to rapidly create bio-based building blocks that are mixed and matched to construct multifunctional therapeutics targeting a specific disease. The genes can be delivered to assemble a therapeutic from within the body. By reducing manufacturing steps and single dose treatment or prevention we will reduce the costs, cuts tones CO2 emissions, and support patience health.
We’re on a mission to create a healthier, greener world for everyone. Discover how our smart genetic platforms are making a real difference.
